Ways to Show Integrity in Business

In a world where crime is a constant and fraud is done everyday, we long to find people that we can trust and opportunities to work together where we do not feel threatened or scared of the outcome possibilities. As a business owner, we want to put our best foot forward and ensure that our clients see us as being “different from the others” in one way or another. Having integrity in your business can set you apart from the pack very quickly.
There are many ways to show your customers that you have integrity. Here are just a few of them:
1. Be passionate about your business. It is important that we are in a business or career that we love in the first place, if you are, it makes it easier to show your passion. So, do a heart check before going into any given business opportunity and make sure that you can be truly passionate about it, so that the passion you have will shine through to the customers.
2. Be upfront. Share information with your customers or clients from day one. Do not withhold information from them because you are afraid you’ll loose a sale, or not make as much money in the end. You need to want more than anything, to do what is right, not only for you but for your client as well. Withholding the truth will only serve you poorly in the end.
3. Appreciate your clients. Showing appreciation can go a long way in helping your customer to see that you are genuine, and can be trusted. Give your customers extra to show your appreciation, not to bribe them into doing more for you, or spending more money with you. Just give back to them to show that you are grateful for their business and loyalty.
4. Be personable and available. You might be the boss, the head honcho, or the CEO, but that does not mean that you should hide away in your office never to be seen by anyone but your employees after all the clients and customers are gone. You want to be seen by everyone as someone who truly cares, you want to be available to help meet the needs of your clients. Availability to others also shows your integrity.
5. Take responsibility for your mistakes. Let’s face it we all mess up. We are not perfect and we will make mistakes. When you do take responsibility and try to make things right. Your clients will appreciate you for it and will be more likely to forgive your mistake than if you tried to cover it up and not tend to it.
These are just a few of the ways that you can show integrity in your business on a daily basis, helping others to trust you with their time and their money.

Is Business Behaving Badly or is the Blob of Bureaucracy to Blame?

Many US citizens believe that the corporate world is totally corrupt and of course they believe this because they have been told by the mass media hysteria on their television sets that all business people are bad? Many people have surrendered their minds to their television sets and therefore they believe whatever they hear on TV. Further the media will often interview the government and the regulatory agencies and talk about ethics on television. Although there is a little bit of hypocrisy there obviously too.
Unfortunately, what many people do not understand is that many of the rules that are being broken are actually regulations that should have never been made in the first place, as they go against the innate characteristics of the species and the normal interaction between human beings. Additionally, it should be noted that you cannot regulate morality that is something that happens everywhere; morality issues are all over. It happens in government, the schools, churches, nonprofits, sports teams, politics and of course in business too.
Is business behaving badly or is it simply the blob of bureaucracy that we should really blame? The reason I point this out is that we are making criminals out of normal entrepreneurs. If you look around yourself right now and consider that every place you go and everything you see was brought there and made by an entrepreneur or a business or a corporation. If we over regulate these businesses then the American citizenry will get less and pay more for what they do get.
After all it is the consumer that desires something and it is the entrepreneur or business, which delivers it and makes it available for a corresponding unit of trade that we call a dollar. Each time the regulatory agencies make another law to regulate morality they find businesses trying to go around that law and therefore they shore it up with another regulation until there are so many regulations that no one knows what the law is including the lawyers who the businesses must hire just to explain it to them. All this does is stifle our economy and hurt the flows of our civilization. Perhaps you might consider this in 2006.

Improve Your Study Success - The One Simple Step That Can Make the Difference

Being a teacher gives me the enviable opportunity to watch and learn from so many of my students. It gives me an insight into how most people tackle homework, assignments, problems, and so on.
Time and again I see the one mistake that makes the difference between mediocre learning and real learning. And the solution is very simple.
When you have a question to answer based on your topic of study always, always, always answer without the text in front of you.
When you takes notes, do it without the text. When you have a problem to solve, leave the text while you try. When you try to recall information, cover the text.
Let’s shorten the idea for emphasis; do your work WITHOUT THE TEXT!
This sounds simple, but is not the commonest way of tackling homework or study.
Think about it and tell me honestly, the last time you had to study something and take notes, did you read a bit, copy down an important point, or a definition and then read a bit more, copy bit more and so on? If you had a series of questions to answer, did you read the question, and then go and look for the answer in the text, write the answer, maybe copying a phrase or word in the process, and then proceed to the next question? Do you ever copy down important definitions or quotations? When you tackle a maths problem, do you follow through the example and carry out the steps you see in the text? Do you copy diagrams from your text into your notes?
All of these examples are not the worst ways to study. At least you are working, getting those questions done for the next day, or compiling those notes for future reference. But they are not the best! And especially if you find that you feel that you have worked hard, and yet don’t get the results you hoped for, you need to change your approach. You will see the difference!
So continue to answer those homework questions or take those notes or solve those problems, but do them, yes, you’ve guessed it, without the text!
Of course, you need the text to learn from. But never copy directly from it, even if the end result is that you have answers written or notes taken. The work will be done, but the retention or actual learning will be nowhere near as effective as it would have been doing it without the text.
Have you ever had a ‘blank’ in an exam? Ever felt the information was on the tip of your tongue, but couldn’t get it out? Ever had the experience of coming out from an exam, and hearing the answer from someone else or reading it in your notes and thinking, ‘Aaahh, I knew that!’ These are common symptoms of studying with too much dependence on the text. The familiarity you feel, comes from being exposed to the text (which is better than someone who never did the work in the first place, of course) but not actually internalising it.

The prolific King of the Keyboard has been writing articles for publication in Ezine @rticles for a relatively short 18 months. Lets see, thats 18 times approximately 30 days in a month … um … carry the 3 … um … about 540 days. And what has the Lance Meister done in that period of time. Oh, hes just submittedand this is tricky because as Im writing the count could go up by thirty or so6200 articles. Thats all Im talking about6200 articles! Back to the math: 6200 divided by 540 … um … drop the 0 … bring down the 8 … looks like a whopping 11.5 articles a day, every day, for a year and a half.
I tip my mouse to the Grand Pooh-Bah of Punditry! How does he do it?
Im approaching fifty articles and thinking Im doing pretty darned good. Then I notice his count has gone up seventy-one in the amount of time it took me to click submit article. When I pull up the Wizard of Words list to see what he has been up to, a slight brown-out occurs in my neighborhood (so I dont do it often, just when I need to feel weak and unworthy which I pretty much feel most of the time).
Hes unbelievable. He knows how to wash just about everything on the planet and has an article full of instructions for each. Cars, trucks, boats, airplanes, fleets of airplanes, even power washing Afghanistan! With robotics yet! Hes the mean of clean.
Another deal is abatements! Hes big on the abatements already! The only thing he cant seem to abate are his articles. And dont get him started on government, religion or royalty! Oh baby! Hes something. What a rascal!
But the most noble thing Sir Lance Write-a-lot has shared with us is his secret to writing articles faster than a speeding bullet. First and foremost is to think production. Holy mackerels, thats brilliant. And when Lance thinks production, he thinks titles. Forget content! Just titles, like two hundred titles for starters. The man is God! Then he has this whole process for gettin busy! Its quite a little cottage industry Mr. Winslow has brewin there.
Unfortunately, as noble as he is, and I say this with no disrespect, the man is a real cacasodo; with little closers like, Ive written 6150 articles so far. How many have you written? I guess he has a right to be arrogant considering the next closest person has a mere 1595 articles, almost contemptible quite frankly, certainly not good enough for mentioning names.
Oh well, I better start my list of titles. But to be honest, itll take me the better part of a year to think of 200 things to write about. Meanwhile, The Man has already posted 22 articles in the time it took me to write this. And wait until he reads it.
All I have to say is Im a dead man writing.

Research figures on the number of computers infested by Spyware are alarming to say the least. They say that 9 out of every 10 computers have been infiltrated in one or another by spyware or adware.
So you can safely assume that the computer, which you are using to read this article, is spyware infested. That means that everything you do including sending out email as well as opening your sensitive accounts is being monitored and recorded and automatically transmitted to another computer. Having all this sensitive information on you means that you are vulnerable to all sorts of possible fraud activities.
Naturally the first thing you want to do right away is to immediately detect and remove all the spyware that is in your computer. Did you know that you can do that without leaving your seat and without having o reach for your credit card (not a wise move when your computer is suspect in terms of spyware).
Actually you can detect spyware online by using free spyware cleaners and by installing spyware protection software right away. Naturally you have to be careful which sites you visit for this. Chances are when you see the how many spyware programs are running on your computer, you will be totally amazed and probably very alarmed.
After detecting and removing the illegal software installed in your PC, the first thing that you will notice is that the speed and performance of your computer will improve dramatically. Usually this malicious software slows down computers considerably and this is quite often one of the first tell tale signs that a computer is being monitored by spyware.
Once you are sure that you are clean, the next thing you need o do is change all your passwords and do something about all the credit cards that you have ever used online.

How to Write Analytical or Argumentative Research Papers

Research papers can be easily differentiated from personal essays on the basis of the extensive research that is executed before the writing of such papers. Research papers thus act as that creative output in which the writers’ personal thoughts and opinions are merged with theories from already established sources.
However, the technique used in the presentation of the paper may make it fall under two broad categories: 1. Analytical, 2. Argumentative, in fact the strategy used by the writer to compose his paper will eventually determine the aim and purpose of the paper.
A detailed discussion of these two methods will clarify the concepts presented above:
1. Analytical Papers
In an analytical research paper, the aim is to attain a thorough expertise of the concept that is being presented so that it can be broken down and represented from the writers’ point of view.
In this form of the research paper, an individual approaches the research question without any pre-conceived notions and ideas about the subject at hand. Thereafter a careful survey of the opinions and views is undertaken. Ultimately when familiarity with the topic is achieved; a person is able to restructure and relocate the concepts that underlie the basic topic in his paper; the very essence of an analytical paper; critical contemplation and evaluation of the question at hand is necessary for an analytical paper.
2. Argumentative Papers
This type of a paper may also be termed a persuasive paper. Aside from critical thinking which is essential for the production of a quality paper, another familiar concept that dominates academic circles is the concept of an argument.

The basic difference from the former kind that qualifies the persuasive kind is that the paper takes a conscious stance and argues in favor of one of the arguments with cogent facts and points presented in its favor. The aim is to mould the reader’s mind in favor of one possible answer to the research question backed by reliable data and arguments.
To conclude; both approaches require logical thinking and smart evaluation alongside comprehensive research of the available sources. However the difference is created through the process of writing, analytical papers provide a more balanced approach where all views pertaining to the question are presented whereas argumentative papers debate in favor of one logical solution above the others.

Hey you. Yeah you. Do you want to burn fat fast? I bet you’ve like to do it without having to exercise or having to change your diet. Well let me let you in on a well kept secret. Are you ready?
It ain’t gonna happen. You can hope all you want, but unless you change what you’re doing that got you over weight to begin with, you’ll be “wishing on a star”.
Why am I being so harsh? Actually, I prefer to call it tough love. Whatever you decide to call it, you need to realize that to lose those pounds, it’s all up to you to make the necessary changes in your life.
But you say it’s so hard!
I’m not going to tell you that it’s easy to break old habits and start new ones. If it were easy, there wouldn’t be a billion dollar industry built around just weight loss. That figure alone should suggest to you that something is afoot. (What can I say? I like Sherlock Holmes.)
What I am going to suggest to you is that you stop taking losing weight so seriously. I’m sure that it’s a safe bet that if you look back at most of the changes you made in your life, you’ll see that you didn’t make a big deal out of them.
The change could have been something as simple as choosing another route to go to work or maybe changing your brand of toothpaste. Nothing life changing about those decisions. And even though the benefits from losing that extra weight may be life changing, the decision to make the change doesn’t have to be.
Truth be told, everything in life is simple. It’s when we try to live life that we make it hard.
So what should you do about trying to lose weight? The answer to that is simple. Simply keep it simple. The harder you try, the harder it becomes. When you stop stressing over every little aspect of losing weight you are going to find that something marvelous starts to happen.
Bit by bit, you’ll actually find yourself doing the things necessary for you to lose weight. You may start out by just drinking more water. You may decide to go for a long walk. You may decide to go with a salad instead of a burger for lunch. You may even find yourself following that diet and exercise plan you laid out your hard earned cash for.
Whenever it happens, it is going to be because the fate of the world no longer rest on you following every minute aspect of your weight loss plan. Just like a seed sprouting from the soil, you’ll gradually grow into doing all the things that stressed you out before. And when that happens, you’ll wonder what the whole fuss was about anyway.
