A Baby Shower With A Meaningful Theme

A baby shower is a chance for the friends and family of the happy mom and dad to gather, give a few presents and celebrate the soon coming of that little boy or little girl to bless this happy home. It is a time for laughter, a few happy tears and some friendship and closeness as well. And it is a time for the young \"mommy to be\" to be reassured that her friends and family will stand by her side through this new experience.
When you are planning a baby shower for your best friend or sister etc, there are a lot of ways to go with a theme. But if you decide to go with a theme that has a meaningful side to it, the shower can still be lots of fun and also have that sense of reverence for the coming of a new life.
One way to customize the theme of the shower is to make everything happening in the shower about the baby\'s future. So you can focus the games and the decorations on a young life that is coming to the world full of promise and looking down the road of the future with the expecting mommy at a time when her little boy or girl goes off to college to make a real impact on the world in which he or she lives.
To really make that theme come to life, you can make arrangements with all of the guests to make the gifts something that will bless the child as she grows up. Savings bonds are one way of starting a college fund for that unborn child. Imagine if that young mommy starts opening the dozens of gifts on the table and in each box or envelope, she finds a savings bond in the name of the new baby to be. Just knowing that a jump start on the happy future of that child has been done will bring tears and hugs for sure.
You can also plan some special and meaningful touches to the baby shower by providing ways for the guests to leave a greeting for that baby down the line that will become a treasured keepsake of the family. You can have everyone chip in on a lovely comforter or quilt and then have each attendee at the shower sign the blanket with a sharpie so their name and short message will stay with that special comforter for life.
\"Babies then and now\" is also a fun way to link the newborn to his or her lineage. With a bit of detective work, maybe you can lay your hands on pictures or video of the mom or dad when they were babies. Then for a complete surprise bring those out for everyone to watch and laugh over. And by looking at babies of the past everyone will begin anticipating when this new infant is running around being just as cute as her mom and dad were when they were little tykes.
By putting some thought and creativity into planning the baby shower, you can make it very fun, meaningful and memorable for the mommy as well as for all the guests. And it will be a memory that mom and dad will look back on with nostalgia as that new life comes to live with them and begins to grow into a healthy and happy little boy or girl.
