Why Some Diets Do Not Work

Dieting has become a way of life for most of us in the western world. Whether we are male or female Some diets work for certain people, some diets do not work for others. There are of course some diets that never really work for anybody. Dieting is not just an issue that affects women. Men face the issue of dieting every day too. I would say that embarking on a diet and keeping it up is a much harder subject to be open about for a man than a woman.
A big factor for a diet not working is that temptation is too close to hand.. The pack of biscuits in the cupboard or the box of chocolates left over from Christmas or the bottle of wine in the fridge. To succeed with a diet you need to remove these temptations. Instead allow yourself a treat every now and then. By this I mean the odd bar of chocolate not a whole box.
Some would say going on a diet is just cutting out all the food you like and reducing the portions so you are hungry all then time. I would say to these people that this is not the case anymore. Diets can be found there you can eat the food you like. Of course it will be a more healthier version. After all it does not take much common sense to realise that eating a portion of fish of chips every day will only mean one thing and that is you will put on weight. However, there are many healthier versions of your favourite food available now.
Whichever diet you choose, and there are many of them. It will only work if you find a diet were you like the food and afford to keep it up. Change your mindset to the diet. More importantly don't cut down your portions so you are starving as you will not be able to maintain your diet. Find a diet which becomes to you a new way of eating. A good diet is one that leaves you enjoying eating the food and wanting to carry on eating that type of food. Of course to keep the weight off you will need to do some exercise . Now don't groan, exercise does not have to be a pain. It can be as simple as walking to dog or stepping up the pace when cleaning your house.
